TAQA wants to be a good neighbour
TAQA believes it is important to be a good neighbour for the community in the Alkmaar region. This is why we have been investing in the Alkmaar region for many years.
We are particularly active in the cultural sector, a sector that is inextricably linked to the communities of Alkmaar, Heiloo and Bergen. We believe that a thriving arts and culture sector contributes to the heart of a region. We are sponsor of the TAQA Theater De Vest in Alkmaar. And since 2011, we have been investing in cultural projects for and by the local community through the TAQA Culture Fund. We have been able to support more than 500 initiatives this way.
TAQA is also a proud sponsor of the Energy Challenges Foundation. This organisation works together with schools in the Alkmaar region to make children aware of energy use and saving energy. Being an energy company ourselves, this subject is close to our hearts.
We also regularly support local charities with funds raised by our own employees, which are doubled by TAQA. For instance, through the Jeugdfonds Sport en Cultuur Alkmaar, we contributed to swimming lessons for children from Alkmaar families struggling to make ends meet. We were also able to offer donations to youth aid organisation Parlan and the Clothing Bank Noord-Holland Noord, among others.
